As the NFL needed no introduction for the starting round in the week 1 and created its own grand entrance with last-second heroics, huge comebacks and, of course, some bad beats to top off the first week of a new season. Now we’re back to do it all over again in Week 2. Yes, Week 2 may be even more entertaining then Week 1 . The underdogs dominated the Week 1 with a score of 12-4 in their favor and we even had a major upset as Steelers took the win away at Bills and had a score 9-7 overall as underdogs. However this is another great preview of a red hot weekend we expect so we are entering the Thursday night football with two teams both 0-1 after the first round and in a desperate need for a win in order to focus further on their eventual playoffs sights.
Giants come at Washington Football Team as a +145 underdog but they have a huge reason why not to be underestimated. They got trashed in the season opener by Denver, but regarding this match they have many advantages to take against Washington. Taylor Heinicke could be the starter for Washington after Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with an injury in Week 1. Saquon Barkley gets more carries in this game, which is a defensive struggle. Still Taylor Heinicke is a part time quarterback and some experts even say that he should be a starter instead of the timeless Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Giants opened the season with a disheartening trip to the Mile High City, as New York visited the Broncos for its Week 1 matchup, and the Giant’ offense came up nearly empty-handed for the length of the event – highlighted by Daniel Jones’ last-second touchdown scamper at the end of the fourth to cap off what still resulted in a double-digit loss for N. Y. (27-13).
The other advantage that Giants have in this matchup is the betting trends and stats between this two teams.
- Washington has lost seven of its last eight divisional home games when playing as the favorite.
- N.Y. Giants have covered the spread in 11 straight road games when facing the NFC.
- N.Y. Giants have gone UNDER the point total in eight straight games.
- N.Y. Giants have covered the spread in four of their last five games when facing Washington.
Final thoughts this is a very difficult match to be predicted, it will be a hard game with many tactical mindsets between the two head coaches. Gibson, the Giants quarterback is in a slightly better condition than the other two (whoever plays) for Washington, and the Giants defense was a top 10 defense in 2020. They failed short in the season opener but its expected huge return tonight. Odds are juicy and we will take them.
