Green Bay Packers welcomes the Lions in the Monday Night Football game to close the Week 2. What we saw from week 2 games so far is that the favorites returned the strike and let underdogs take only 5 wins after Week 1 when the underdogs took 9 wins. A great games yesterday where also the “under” took the cash dominating the games letting only 5 overs.
Monday Night Football , for the Packers means they will have a chance to return with a win after a terrible performances in the opening and for that this is a great opponent they have today in Detroit Lions. Disaster for Packers in the Week 1 in which they were trashed by the Saints with a only one field goal receiving 38 points with 5 touchdowns and 1 field goal.
On the other side Detroit had also a rough Week 1 after 49ers scored an incredible 31 points in the first half and they gave no chance to the Lions to return to the game for a final 41-33 score controlled by the 49ers with an ease.
Green Bay Packers last season had superb offensive power with a 31.5 PPG and their level of scoring should be back this season sooner than later. Aaron Rodgers still stands as an elite quarterback and still has enough power in the tank left despite he is being completely out of form. He was out during the entire off-season and returned in the Week 1 but still the things didn’t go well for hi. Detroit Lions by many are a “garbage” team with their defense dead in the last season allowing 32.4 PPG. However they also have young and talented offense and they proved they can score against stronger opponents.
Prediction for the game based on the current form, odds and team ranking on this game is difficult to make. By the stats both of the teams and their current form show that this should be a high powered scoring game but if we take in consideration Packers game 1 against the Saints where they didnt had an offensive firepower at all, this will not be an easy bet. Green Bay went OVER on 4 of its last 5 games but the only UNDER came this season in the game 1. The other for overs were from the last season. Therefore as Detroit Lions lost 11 of their last 12 divisional games , but they covered the spread in 7 of the last 8 encounters with the Packers we will go for the underdogs to cover the spread.
Prediction: Detroit Lions +12.5
