Baseball’s postseason is about to end soon as once again in the most shortest season in history because of the pandemic, the MLB is preparing Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, to host baseball’s first in-person fans of this virus-altered season Monday.
The AL and NL duels are already known as Tampa Bay will seek the World Series once again against Houston Astros, while on the other side, LA Dodgers will take on Atlanta Braves in their seek for glory after 22 years.
Tampa Bay has a deep pitching staff and a solid though unexceptional lineup. That’s enough for the Rays to be one of the best teams in the league, but great pitching alone won’t give them a title. Assuming their pitching remains as strong as it’s been all season, the Rays’ hopes to win their first World Series championship in franchise history will depend on how well they hit in October.
Astros – October villains to many a year after their sign-stealing scandal was exposed – advanced to the AL Championship Series for the fourth consecutive season. It will be their first ALCS under Dusty Baker, their 71-year-old manager. Houston clinched at Dodger Stadium, where it won the 2017 World Series in seven games. The Astros’ sign-stealing scheme used during their title run was revealed last year by former teammate and current A’s pitcher Mike Fiers, who didn’t pitch in this series.
Atlanta – The last time the MLB season did not start on time, Atlanta won the World Series. Of course, the 1995 Braves played 144 games upon returning from the players’ strike instead of the 60-game season this year. But no matter the length of the season, these Braves are legitimate contenders. Braves have all of the offense in the world. Freddie Freeman might win the NL MVP, and Marcel Ozuna was already the NL batting champion. But the Braves, without Mike Soroka, have no pitching other than Max Fried. Will that bite them sooner than later? Probably.
The Dodgers are the best team in baseball. They had the deepest lineup in the National League before adding Mookie Betts this offseason. Clayton Kershaw (5–1, 1.50 ERA) is once again a Cy Young candidate, and the Los Angeles rotation hardly lets up after that: Walker Buehler, Dustin May, Julio Urias and Tony Gonsolin. . The Dodgers starters have the lowest ERA in the NL this year. Those guys are the reason.
World Series Prediction
The 2020 MLB season will come down to outstanding pitching and incredible depth. When looking across the majors, few teams can compete with the Tampa Bay Rays in those areas. This club already knows how to play in quiet ballparks and there is a lot of reason to like their title chances this year.
Dodgers are complete in every way. They have enough offensive power to burn any team, and the best pitching rotation in the NL as we previously mentioned. They are the main favorite to win the World Series and we expect them to deliver. Dodgers will beat Tampa Bay in 7 games with 4:3 for the glory of the city of Los Angeles. If the Dodgers win the World Series and Lakers win NBA finals this will be the first time since 1988 when both teams brought trophies in LA in the same year.
